• Act as the technical lead for selected CMO partnerships, ensuring timely delivery, effective risk mitigation, and strict compliance with manufacturing standards.
• Oversee the manufacturing of critical intermediates and raw materials to meet clinical and commercial supply needs.
• Facilitate supply planning, budgeting, and contract tracking through ERP systems in partnership with Legal and Finance teams.
• Support regulatory submissions and responses to health authorities, leading quality system activities such as change control, deviations, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
• Review and approve batch records, protocols, and reports submitted by CMOs.
• Provide oversight during Process Performance Qualification (PPQ) and commercial manufacturing campaigns, including serving as 'Person in Plant' when necessary.
• Deliver insights across various internal functions, with a willingness to travel internationally (~20%, primarily across Europe/Asia). Requirements
• PhD in Chemistry preferred; candidates with an MS or BSc along with strong industrial experience will also be considered.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing of small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), particularly in GMP environments; contract manufacturing experience is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of chemical manufacturing best practices, including PPQ, and robust quality systems (change control, deviations, CAPAs) and regulatory submissions.
• Strong foundation in organic chemistry with the ability to influence in matrix settings; exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
• Comfortable making informed decisions with incomplete data and adept at working across multiple time zones.
